A Bit About Me
I was born in Ban Vinai, a refugee camp in Thailand, after my parents fled Laos following the Vietnam War. In the early 1990's, my parents, younger sister, and I immigrated to Fresno, CA, seeking a fresh start and new opportunities. As the eldest of eight children, I carry the responsibility of my family's legacy and the hopes of those who came before. My journey is a testament to resilience and the pursuit of a better life.

Education held immense value for my parents, who faced significant challenges in their early years in America. The war striped away their teenage and early adult years, leaving them without the opportunity for formal education. Despite these obstacles, their dedication to education shaped our own values and aspirations.

After my parents relocated from Fresno, CA to Tulsa, OK in search of better job opportunities, I excelled in my studies at East Central High School, graduating as valedictorian. I continued my academic journey at Oklahoma State University, where I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a minor in microbiology. I also obtained my secondary school teaching license.

I went on to pursue my medical education at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, OK, where I graduated in 2015. My husband and I got married the summer before residency started, knowing well that we would be hundreds of miles apart. My husband lives in Minnesota. I spent the next three years doing my residency at Henry Ford Health Providence Family Medicine Residency in Southfield, MI. I graduated in 2018 and then relocated to Minnesota to reunite with my husband and daughter. I had my daughter during my first year of residency.

I have been practicing medicine since 2018.

My husband and I have 5 children: 1 daughter and 4 boys.
